iOS Apps of 2012
It was a brilliant year for iOS app design and creation with hundreds of thousands of new apps available, but which ones stood out? I currently have around 100 apps on my iPhone and I’ve probably downloaded more than 500 this year, but only a few of stick out as my absolute favorites. What are yours?
I’m sure 2013 will bring more surprises and more ways to use our smartphones. I think...

Every year I manage to make a list of my top songs. This year was especially fun because of all the great music released from many genres and many talented people. I know I’m missing a few, but there’s something on this list for everyone. I guarantee it.
01 Henrietta Yeasayer
02 The House Is Gone Justin Carloni
03 You and Me Sara Watkins
04 Cherokee Cat Power

iTunes 11: Where did my sidebar go?
Welcome to iTunes 11. What happened to the sidebar? I appreciate Apple trying to improve the iTunes platform, but what I don’t understand is why certain elements are not displayed by default. After installing the new version last week, I quickly thought I made a HUGE mistake… but then I figured out how to make iTunes familiar once again.
To add the sidebar back, simply follow these steps after...

Twitter Adds Header Image; Changes Layout
On Tuesday, Twitter quietly rolled out a few changes. The most significant change is the addition of a header image to the main profile page, bringing Twitter closer to the look & feel of Facebook’s timeline. Mobile apps will also see this update available, which in my opinion, looks better than the regular webpage.
So with the addition of a header and updated profile photo size, people are...

All ABbout QR Codes
Does your business use QR codes? If so, how are they used? Do they simply direct people to your website or are they engaging your customers with a contest, video, survey, or free download? When used properly, QR codes make your social media campaigns better. Scanning a QR code should be like opening a pack of baseball cards and finding a limited edition card and not the card that shows up in every...

iTunes Match & iCloud
With iTunes Match, all your music can be stored in Apple’s iCloud allowing access of up to 20,000 songs from your Apple devices. Sounds amazing, right? I signed up for iTunes Match on launch day and was excited to finally have a catalog of music available in the cloud and playable on my iPhone, iPad, and MacBook Pro whenever I wanted to hear it… except when I’m on 3G.
I tried using iTunes Match...

Marketing with Pinterest
Over 10 million people are now using Pinterest including The University of New Hampshire. Why? It’s another way to showcase the school through pictures and “pins.” Pinterest is also tied to either your Facebook or Twitter account, so there’s a ton of cross-traffic between the social networking platforms, giving it more exposure. Pinterest is all about images and it has a simple, yet beautiful...

So Long, Old Bridge!
I took one last jaunt across the old Memorial Bridge yesterday. The bridge had been used daily from 1923 up until 2011. It closed to automobiles in September and yesterday it closed to pedestrian traffic. A new bridge will be coming soon, but not before a 2 year construction project, that will begin in the next month. The new version will look modern and appear a lot more minimal, but it will be...
